KUMASA prepares for 2nd Assembly

KUMASA, an alliance of union- and worker-based cultural groups in Southern Tagalog targets to hold its 2nd Assembly this April 2007. The schedule of the Assembly is in time for the preparations and build-up activities for May One, or the International Labour Day.

The Assembly expects to be attended by delegates from the seven (7) member organisations of KUMASA. New members, as results of the alliance's organising effort, will be introduced in the assembly.

The 2nd Assembly will present the 3-year summing-up report of the organisation since its founding assembly in December 14, 2003. It will also present its 3-year cultural plan which will dwell extensively in arts and cultural trainings, as well as organising cultural cadres and workers among the workers in Southern Tagalog.

The 2nd Assembly will also elect the new set of KUMASA officers. Some resolutions will also be passed.
